The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)

IFAD has supported INBAR since 1993 with a range of technical grants and assistance. IFAD Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) 774 is used primarily by our Livelihoods and Economic Development Programme to effect development in our Action Research Field Projects. Previous grants (TAG 332, TAG 518, TAG 836) have enabled INBAR to commence its ARP's,and buld its own capacity to deliver effective development solutions with bamboo and rattan. TAG 911 funds the NTFP programme.
 
 
 
 
Common Fund for Commodities (CFC)
 
INBAR is the International Commodity Body for bamboo and rattan of the Common Fund for Commodities, and as such variously runs or oversees CFC-funded bamboo and rattan development projects in Bangladesh, China, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Togo 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
India's National Mission on Bamboo Applications (NMBA)
 
  
 NMBA provides  support to finance INBAR bamboo construction activities in India. The partnership is trialling innovative and eco-friendly solutions through bamboo to build small and large scale constructions in India.
 
 
 
State Forestry Administration (SFA)

INBAR's grant from the Government of China is administered by the International Cooperation Department of the State Forestry Administration.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The International Development Research Centre (IDRC)
  IDRC provides support for INBAR’s Global Bamboo Housing initiatives in Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda.
 
 
 
The European Commission (EC)
 
The European Commision is INBAR's largest project funding partner. In Ethiopia and Ghana, the EC  supports the project "Bamboo as sustainable biomass energy: A suitable alternative for firewood and charcoal production in Africa." The project will increase the use of bamboo as a source of energy for the poor of Ethiopia and Ghana thereby provising a more sustainable, environmentally friendly and economical option to firewood and wood charcoal. In China, the EC supports the project "Sustainable Revival of Livelihoods in post-disaster Sichuan." The project is funded through the EC's Switch Asia Program and is enhancing pro-poor bamboo production supply chains to support the reconstruction effort.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Citi Foundation
 

The Citi Foundation provides support for the project "Sichuan sustainable bamboo enteprise program." Since 2009, the program is the first of its kind and is designed to help rebuild livelihoods by promoting bamboo-based employment opportunities for families affected by the earthquake in Sichuan province, while supporting the development of the local bamboo sector.
