Bamboo office space in Haldwani, India

Center for excellence, a training cum office space for UBFDB (uttaranchal bamboo and fibre development board)

The site is located at Haldwani, Nainital Distt, Uttaranchal. The main function of the structure was to create awareness about the usage of bamboo in construction also. This was also done to motivate the farmers cultivating bamboo for their market utility.

The structure is measuring 1170sq.ft, with training space/office space and display area. The structure is based on the pre-fabricated ideology, where repetitive components were fabricated to erect the whole structure.

Roofing of the structure was done with BCB (bamboo composite boards) procured from Composite Factory, Bangalore.

The structure was constructed at Rs. 500/- per square feet.(approx. $11.50per sq.ft)

The structure is designed and engineered by Gaurav Sharma, Architect and Furniture Designer. He was assisted by Er. Satish Patil, KONBAC, Kudal, Konkan.
