Developing Approaches, Tools, Methods and Institutional Arrangements to Increase Scalability and Adaptive Replication of Bamboo and Rattan Options in Investment Projects

A set of 10 enterprise financial models covering a range of growing and processing have been put together. Four technical and financial information packages were produced. Gender-friendly product designs and production systems for enhancing the participation of women were designed while process-flows were improved to enhance the capacity of communities (and supporting project staff) to produce products more efficiently. Enterprise training courses were prepared in specific bamboo product production areas with technology sub-sets for building the capacity of rural communities. Progress in developing loan project linkages has been encouraged. There are on-going contacts with IFAD investment projects in China, India, Ghana, Tanzania and Ecuador to improve capacity building, products and enterprises, and support and replication possibilities.
