In the equator area of Africa, we use bamboo plants to build bamboo structures, It’s also a try in Africa, Grass and soil are also common building materials here, Our comprehensive utilization of these natural materials into a building or a space is a return to nature and a manifestation of human creation of ecological space.

Every year from July to August is the season for harvesting grass in Africa, We have purchased a lot of grass that can be used to build houses. Its height is basically about 1.8-2 m eters, During the grass harvesting season, farmers will send their harvested grass from all directions, The quantity of grass per bundle is also quite large. The diameter of each bundle of grass is about 35 cm.

After buying grass, ask workers to cover the roof. Before grass is covered, there are multiple procedures to clean up. To remove the debris in the grass, use special tools to comb it neatly, and then tie it into a bundle of the same size and diameter before covering the roof.

Africans have a more mature technology for covering roofs with grass roofs, They are not only of good quality but also very fast, There are several types of grass roofs. There are similar covering methods in the Netherlands and local ones in Africa, The thickness of the covering is generally about 20 cm.

Rural households in Uganda generally do not have public power sources, and those households that have the conditions use a solar panel for their own electricity. Our resident is also powered by solar panels. At night, it is our own space. You can watch what your want to see on the computer, you can play with your mobile phone, and you can observe the planets in the sky in the dark night. Da Cui uses a mobile phone.

When night comes, our bamboo village often has large wild animals such at hippos and bison, we often hear animal calls or footsteps outside the room in the middle of the night. For the safety of bamboo village there are staff on duty around the clock 24 time a day, One day earlier to the evening, it was about nine o’clock in the evening, Three hippos broke in. It was next to of our room and we came out with a flashlight, the see hippo eats grass at casual here.
