- Bhutan’s designated focal point with INBAR is the Department of Forests and Park Services of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests (MoAF)
- There are at least 34 species of bamboo present of Bhutan, belonging to 15 genera
- The vast majority of Bhutan’s bamboo and rattan resources are concentrated in the Central and Southern regions of the country
- Bamboo and rattan resources are recognised and regulated under the Forest and Nature conservation Act of 1995
