This study examines the various aspects of the rattan production-to-consumption system in Java: the stakeholders, opportunities, constraints, challenges and possible interventions to sustain the system. The study was conducted in the main industrial locations of Cirebon and Surabaya regions, Kuningan Forest District (where rattan collection takes place), and Cianjur and Sukabumi Forest Districts (where rattan plantations exist).
