Latin America and Caribbean Ambassadors’ Dialogue
INBAR is hosting a dialogue to discuss how bamboo can support countries across Latin America and the Caribbean to boost economic recovery and develop more sustainably following the COVID-19 crisis, under the theme: ‘Triangular Cooperation, Knowledge Transfer and Best Practices’.
Over the last two decades, INBAR has been working with Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, using bamboo for everything from resilient housing to sustainable incomes and climate-smart farming and forestry. These countries’ experiences show how important bamboo can be as a renewable, versatile source of material, food and fuel, and part of more circular economies. Bamboo could be a critical part of region’s economic recovery, in line with the “big push for sustainability” urged by Alicia Bárcena, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Dialogue is open to embassy representatives from across the region, and will feature videos and a discussion with high-level policymakers.
