Theme: Bamboo Industry Development

Introduction:

Bamboos are different to woods and herbs, with distinct biological, morphological, physical and chemical properties. Even within bamboo there is a lot of variation: there are more than 1600 species of bamboo which are distributed widely across various climates, soil types, topographies and habitats. As such, for bamboo to be utilised for industrial purposes, a key issue is how to create and produce special machines and equipment that take into account bamboo’s specific features, while also producing products efficiently and of a high quality. This session will provide an overview on bamboo machine and equipment development, as well as common bamboo processing machines and equipment.
