Introduction:
Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world: a versatile and highly renewable resource which can be harvested annually without causing degradation or deforestation. As such, bamboo is an ideal resource for modern pulp and paper making. In China, India and Brazil, large areas of bamboo forests are managed for pulp and paper making. To date, the pulp and paper industry is the largest consumer of bamboo resources on the globe. This session will provide an opportunity for participants to learn from experts and entrepreneurs on the current status of modern bamboo pulp and paper industry.
