INBAR Department:Global Programme
Report to: Coordinator , Global Assessment of Bamboo and Rattan for green development (GABAR)
Duration:1 August 2020 to 31 July 2021 (1 year); 2-3 days per week
For more than two decades, INBAR has been at the forefront of researching and applying bamboo and rattan’s uses for sustainable development. Bamboo and rattan are increasingly recognised as valuable plants and non-timber forest products, with the potential to contribute to many of the most pressing global challenges. Despite this, there is no general overview of bamboo and rattan. INBAR is developing a book about state of bamboo and rattan in the work that would summarise bamboo and rattan’s distribution and uses globally, and in specific regions of the world. It would also review the most recent developments in bamboo and rattan’s uses, and provide an outlook on the future development of the bamboo and rattan sector. INBAR is looking for an intern to support the development of this book. INBAR is offering an internship opportunity for students who want to broaden their knowledge in the fields of bamboo resources, product development and trade. Selected interns will work with Membership Affairs, the Communications Department and Global Programme.
Applications will be accepted until 31 July, 2020. All applications will be acknowledged, but only short-listed candidates will be contacted.
