Side Event of UN Biodiversity Conference (COP 15): Bamboo Forest Biodiversity, Ecological-Economic Complex, and Carbon Sink

INBAR is an observer to the UN Convention on Biodiversity (UNCBD), where it promotes bamboo’s important role for biodiversity protection and healthy forests on behalf of its Member States.

INBAR will be taking part in the side event organized by the International Bamboo and Rattan Centre titled The Bamboo Forest Biodiversity, Ecological-Economic Complex, and Carbon Sink.

This side event at UNCBD COP 15 focuses on the introduction of the characteristics and main functions of bamboo forests in the ecosystem, as well as the value of bamboo forest biodiversity, increasing the awareness of the value of growth, utilization and biodiversity of bamboo forests, and expanding the influence of bamboo forest research worldwide.
