INBAR’s Task Forces, comprising experts from around the world, play an increasingly important role in the fulfilment of INBAR’s mission, as advocates, technical advisors and trainers.

 

Bamboo Construction Task Force

The Bamboo Construction Task Force, facilitated by INBAR, coordinates the activities of international research institutes and commercial companies interested in the structural uses of bamboo. Prior to the Task Force’s initiation, there was no coordination or communication between research teams working on this subject.

Rattan Task Force

The Rattan Task Force, facilitated by INBAR, aims to conduct research and raise awareness about rattan’s sustainable use, trade, and product and standards development. The Task Force is made up of experts from different countries around the world.

The INBAR Task Force on Sustainable Bamboo Management aims to increase knowledge and inform practice about how to sustainably manage bamboo resources. A major output of the Task Force is to produce voluntary guideline standards that will boost sustainable management of bamboo forests and farms, as well as trade.
