Magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles were successfully deposited on the surface of the bamboo via a hydrothermal process at low temperature. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) were employed to characterize the features of the grown magnetic nanoparticles on the surface of the bamboo. Magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles with their saturation magnetization (Ms = 0136 emu/g) displayed well superparamagnetic behavior. With further modification by 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-perfluorodecyltrimethoxysilane (FAS-17), superhydrophobic magnetic Fe3O4/bamboo composites (SMB) expressed superhydrophobic performances to not only water but also daily liquids like coffee, milk, ink, tea, and coke and water-repellent effect.
