Since its establishment in 2014, the INBAR Construction Task Force has successfully built an effective mechanism to develop international standards, disseminate bamboo building knowledge and support global coordination on sustainable bamboo construction. The INBAR Construction Task Force Newsletter aims to share the latest research, project and publication information related to the key experts of the task force with INBAR’s 41 member states and all the stakeholders of bamboo construction. The newsletter is published every quarter of the year (April, July, October and January). The issue of 2016 Q2 includes the following: 1. Habitat III will be held from 17-20th October, 2016 in Quito, Ecuador. 2. VOA news: Dr. Kent Harries was interviewed by VOA for their tests for bamboo in June 2016. 3. A new International Standards Organization Technical Committee for bamboo and rattan (ISO TC296) – launched in Beijing (April 26, 2016) ; 4. 3 Upcoming events for bamboo construction; 5. Outcomes of the Symposium on “Bamboo in the Urban Environment”; 6. Recruiting Experts: How to become a key expert of INBAR Construction Task Force; 7.
